Dietitian Service

A Dietitian helps people make food choices which can help treat disease and promote good health.  Dietitians provide scientifically based, practical and effective strategies to support patients, their family, whanau and caregivers to make choices about foods which suit them and their lifestyle.

Patients can be referred to a dietitian while in hospital. The Dietitian will assess and recommend a nutritional treatment to support the specialist management of the patient. This may also include education for the patient and follow up as an outpatient.
